Around the Waterloo Region, people can be spotted standing by bus stops wondering if they will make it to their destination. Buses are continuing to run as normal, but with a Grand River Transit strike looming over the city, many are wondering what will happen. The union representing the city’s transit workers has to give two days notice before they can go on strike. They are pushing for better workplace health and safety, as well as other workplace related issues. After rejecting a deal last week, the union said they were prepared to start striking on Monday, April 3. But thanks to intense negotiations they reached a tentative agreement between both parties, that pushed the possible strike date to April 5 at 5 a.m.
