This week on Spoke TV, we have a look at the Victoria St Bridge closure on how it will affect the commute for drivers and how local businesses can attract drivers to their location. Also, a local business called Fresh Ground is a space that aims to bring community members together. On campus at Conestoga College, Counseling Services saw an increase of students making appointments with a counselor to talk about stress-related issues. A Broadcast Television student, Bruno Cortez Sibella, started a Brazilian show with his wife that airs on CIJQ on Saturday at 7 p.m. and has been getting public views on their Facebook live page and an increase on CIJQ rating for listening to the show. The Region of Waterloo is looking to lower pollution to keep our carbon footprint down, so residents will see a change in reducing our carbon footprints. Waterloo Region is included as part of Toronto’s proposal bid to become Amazon’s second headquarters is on the remaining top 20 contender list. A local basketball team, the KW Titans, showed their support by having a first responder’s appreciation night in honour of their service around the community.
